What do people think about providing subforums in General chat?
I was thinking:
General
-Forum Games
-Movies
-Music
-News
-TV
Just to... take the pressure off the main category.

I actually like it the way it is. Compartmentalizing it too much would detract from it, for me. "General Chat" seems to function well, doesn't it?

I think it'd be nice to have at least a little separation here and there. As it is, "General Chat" seems like so much of a "chuck it all in there" forum that it gets cluttered. Besides, threads that don't fit in any particular niche can still just go in "General Chat" without being categorized further.

Sounds good! It can get frustrating to click on general chat and be bombarded with such a variety of threads.

Having the bigger section is more collective. I think over time I (for one, perhaps no one agrees with me?) would cease visiting the "T.V." forum, perhaps even the "Movies" or "Music" forums (not necessarily because I'm not interested in those topics but because of other constraints). It's conceivable that people don't have the time to explore such things. If a TV thread is started in General Chat, someone who doesn't particularly watch TV might see it there and happen to click on it - having everything there in General Chat allows for more communal conversation - so many threads go off topic and don't stay in their defined "TV," "News" et. all veins.
I don't know, it just doesn't seem right. :D

Well, Shoutgrace's opinion on this issue probably has more weight than mine - I usually just use the "New Posts" button, so it for the most part means no-never-mind to me.

I love it the way it is.
Please don't make sub-forums. It gets really annoying to visit here and there, especially, when my internet speed is slow.

Maybe they wouldnt be such a great idea after all...it might discourage creativity in making threads. Hmm.

I like living in a mess :D, as that will be a motivation enough to go through the entire mess, and in that process I might learn or chance upon a thread that I would completely ignore otherwise. Organised things are so boring.... :p :D
