The semester will be over, so I will be free from school stress for three weeks. I will be working overtime most days though. I get Christmas Eve and Day off, but I will probably sneek in a couple more days for shopping and friends.

My friend is going to get leave from base for two weeks, so he promised to come down and see me. Him and I have a few plots to reunite some wandering friendships...so that sounds like Christmas spirit to me. Other than that, I will be going to family Christmas parties and preparing for singing carols with my church.

I hope you do find some fun this month. Even if it is just a little bit of Christmas spirit with a friend.

Hmmm....planning nothing. When it would be Christmas for people in many parts of the world, it will be mid year exams for me.

A Christmas Carol

I heard them mention Christmas on the News,
So I put down my book to hear what they had to say.
Another bunch of people just like Old Scrooge—
"Our sales are falling off this year, and it's a shame!"
So I got in my truck and took a drive to the empty lot,
Where I grew up when I was just a little boy.
And the memories came flooding in just like a flock,
The times of sorrow, the times of joy.
We didn't have a whole lot then, we were poor as we could be.
And our neighbors there were poor as well, but rich in giving.
Race didn't matter, what we had, we shared like family:
What happened to the meaning that made life worth living?
I came back up Main Street and saw empty stores with signs that said for rent:
The shopping malls were overcrowded, but what made Christmas great packed up and left...

For Christmas, my cousins, auntie and uncle and grandparents will stay over with my family for a few days, and we will have fun with my little brother and cousin leaving out food for Santa ;) There's bound to be a lot of laughing, a lot of food, music, dancing, talking, the customary Boxing Day showing of "It's a Wonderful Life" and a lot of alcohol! *Thinks longingly of mulled wine on cold days* Hehe. And of course presents :P

How about everyone else?

aww, Pendragon, that was beautiful . . . :(

i keep on thinking that, when i hear the stores all playing christmas music, and everything advertising "Christmas!", all the commercials feeding off it, everything . . . Christmas has just become another way to spend money. In my family, it's Hannukah, but it's the same thing - my mother and I both hate that we have to have a big gift-exchange at our family reunion every year, with each family member giving others things that neither want. I always wish that we could do away with the presents, and just spend an evening doing something all together. That would be a better gift than anything i could ever get. . .

anyways, i think i'm dragging down the whole happymood here, so anyways, winter rocks! :p

and Pen and everybody else - have a great holiday all the same. :)

in my hometown (Nuremberg) there's the world's most famous Christmas market. Some friends and me are going there with a group of international students next week. We're also going to the toy museum.
(I'll take some pics).

my best friend and me will cook together (maybe Chinese or Indian).

my boyfriend and me will visit my parents.

apart from that, i'll just hang around, read, study and maybe my bf and me will go for a long walk/hike.

A toy museum! Don't I wonder. . . hehe

It's not Chrismas or close to it, but that doesn't mean we don't have the same spirit the rest of the time. :)

So, Niamh used to have a different name! Interesting. . . :wink5:
