Sonnet For The Fair, Fresh, and Innocent
You really didn't think that I could allow,
This most important day to just pass on by;
And make no sonnet to let you know just how,
We are glad an angel like yourself dropped by?
A tender flower growing in a world so rough,
Yet one who is brave and clings to her faith.
You may not consider yourself all that though,
But, hear me, child: I know you to be unafraid.
With the passing of time the hour will come.
When whatever you are meant to do, you will.
The battle is to the one that can overcome,
Not the one who starts out, then has no will.
You have been a shining star when you have just been who you are:
Take the gifts that God has granted you, and you will go far!
