I know I dont really belong here but Ive pretty much decided I want to become a uni lectorer. I know Im still in my first term of my first year asan undergrad but I thought maybe there is some choices I should start making from now so I can achive these goals.
any hints or pointers would be good. Thanks:D

my mom used to be a Uni lecturer. I asked her and she gave me 3 things

1) Dont waste time , go straight for your PHD.
2)Get into an excellent program.
3)Make sure youre well published before youre 30

Good luck Night! I'm planning on teaching high school and thinking of moving on to Uni lecturing from there if I ever need more money or yearn for more focused students :p May I suggest that you take a few education courses as electives if you have the time? The only professors I've had that I get frustrated with are the ones who obviously know a lot about the subject and are very experienced in their feild but have never learned how to effectively get that information into students' heads by presenting it in a learnable form. Sometimes just simple things like planning out the semester's topics and using discussion can really increase students' understanding of a subject...
