Ok so I now that Winston and his wife Katharine parted some years ago. I also know that she left because they couldn't produce a child.Which is all marriage in Oceania is basically used for. But there is something I'm wondering about. Am I ever going to find out exactly when she left, and where she went. It kind of seems weird that one day your wife just leaves you. I also wonder if there is another reason she left, or is it just because she's a brainwashed loal party member spitting out everything they say right back at them. Well I hope you can tell me.:wave:

I just read that part of the book so i'm not sure if we'll ever find out exactly when she left or where she went. Also I don't think that Katharine left Winston, I think that Winston was forced to leave his wife because they couldn't produce a child. I think that the only reason that Winston was forced to leave was because they couldn't produce a child, no other reason. She wasn't a brainwashed local party member althought she was dedicated to Big Brother. I hope that helps you! :thumbs_up

So the word brainwashed was a little harsh, but she most certainly was a loyal party member. My teacher has even said so. That's why she spits out everything the party says.
