Virgil could you be more specific about why you're having difficulty c/p'ing?

Logos, recently when I try to highlight a section of text, the place mark doesn't stop to where I want it to. It either unhighlights itself or it goes all the way to the end of the page, either to the top or to the bottom. Does that make any sense? What I've been doing is letting it go to the top or bottom of the page, copying, paste the whole thing, and cut off the parts I didn't want. I've had this problem for the past few months, and it's not just with one computer. There are three computers I may log in here with, and it happens on all three.

That happens to me too. I'd assumed it was some aspect of the way the text was entered into this website. What I end up doing is highlighting the entire thing (as it forces me to) then pasting that into Word, and then searching for a keyword, and excising everything I don't want (which is 99% of it).

Hmm, interesting.. What browser you are using? version of windows?

I've just tried c/p'ing with Firefox 2.0 (WinXP) and no problem, however, in IE 6.0 I see what you mean.. no control of the cursor, the whole page gets highlighted and doesn't seem to matter what page I try <--- edited to add this on author pages or etext pages.

I guess all three computers use windows XP, if that helps.

Err, I have the same problem, too. Though every time I want to highlight a whole passage, I draw down the cursor and it highlights the first four or five lines and then stops. No way to make it move on highlighting from there. I then use the "Control" and "A" key to select the whole page with advertisements and all and copy.
I'm using firefox 2.0 and Windows XP.

I am using XP and IE 7.0 and having no problems with copying and pasting on the Forum.

I'm having these problems not with the Forum, but with the etexts' pages.

It only happens to me in IE Explorer; Firefox is just fine. It also only occurs with the E-texts (I'm not sure how many, I'm guessing all? - I've only tried to copy Donne, Hamlet, Whitman, Wuthering Heights, and just a few others, but each one has been screwy).

Of course, the solution for me is just to use Firefox, though that sounds like it won't work for Schokokeks (whose problem appears to be different than mine - when I try to highlight just a few lines, I end up highlighting hundreds, or what is effectively the entire page). :(
