we dance for each other
at a distance
(even now I am dancing for you)
a graceful ballet
full of sweeping, elegant movement
but never too close;
always separate and apart

we are stirred by music
no one else hears.
it calls yet still
we keep space between us

separate and apart

we pretend not to see

our shadows
dancing together on the wall
gliding in unison,
spinning in harmony
until the dance is over
our shadows merge
and in stillness become
a single silhouette

separate and apart

we pretend not to see

hmmm...provocative - yet wispy, ethereal, and ever so lonely.

very nice piece. liked how you broke it up as well. kind of like the poem was en pointe...

I met you in my dream last night,
I met you under the moon filled twilight sky.
I asked you for your name, you whispered it in my ear, i felt your warm sweet breath, it made me gasp and sent cold shivers down my spine, i felt small goosebumps erupt from my skin.

You stood before me, and smiled, your dark brown eyes glistened in the starlight, it brought a smile on my face.
You asked me my name, i told you, i watched your lips as you sounded it out,
you said it was pretty, i smiled,
You sounded it out again, this time on my lips i tasted my name on your lips, it left me longing and breathless.

You held me, so close i could hear your heartbeat, you told me the words i longed to hear you say, it brought tears to my eyes,
gently streaming down my face, they sparkled in the moonlight, like ice crystals melting in the warm spring sun, we were greeted by the silent winter breeze as it whipped my hair it said its goodbyes to the sleeping.

Then i said a silent prayer in my heart , requesting God not to let this blissful moment pass.
