I am trying to remember the name of a book written by (perhaps Saul Bellow?) about the situation that occurred after Hitler won WWII. It examined all the family members' reactions to the different world political situation. Some family members capitulated, others rebelled. I would really like to read this book, but can't remember the author.

Also, (in a *****y mode - because I had a sucky Thanksgiving) are there any boards where people (IE human beings) can converse in something resembling other than babblespeak: re are there any interesting, intelligent people out there who are lonely and want to talk, or is the internet simply devoted to strange people who want to pick up some imaginary babe existing only in cyberspace?

Regardless of question two: if you know the book that came out one to three years ago regarding the above question, I would greatly appreciate the answer.
