I know that your birthday is going to be tomorrow. However, my GMT+ 7 time zone says your birthday is today! And I may not be here tomorrow, so it's best that I create the thread today.

I took the trouble of baking this cake last night :D :D. I know it looks a little mess up. And I have to tell you that the taste is not less terrible than it looks :D.

The Thanksgiving birthday boy
Has all his lit net friends
Offer him every sort of toy
Even a few lovely dragon hens.

And one adorable dragon hen
Gives our birthday boy a kiss or two
Makes his large heart flutter, poor Pen,
Makes him lift his wings into the blue.

But do not fear his growly voice
He's just a big hugable man
Hidden inside aa dragon by choice
Who suns himself for a green tan.

Who do we turn to on this wide earth

That fellow with a laugh and big girth

Not as good as dear Pen would pen, but it will have to do.

Another attempt at a sonnet for your birthday Pen (if only to show how talented you are to do so many for the people around here ;))

I searched my mind for some gift I could bring
Which might do justice to our dear friend Pen
At first I thought a pipe might be the thing
So he could look like Sherlock Holmes, but then,
I thought perhaps I'd give this best of men
Another gift, a sword with jewels bright
Endowed with magic properties so when
He fought in darkness it would glow with light.
But then I thought another gift was right
And I would give to him a dragon bold
With beauteous power, and grace in flight
So Pen could ride him past the moon's bright cold.
But having neither dragon, sword nor pipe
I can only offer these half-rhymes I write.

Fraternal relations are the norm around here,
At LitNet, where so many meet in one place.

Bidding them gone with a smile on their face.

One face 'round here turns another year older
(Though you can't hardly tell with those scales in the way)
Having him with us makes our own hearts beat bolder
Helping us find the absolute best things to say.

The Dragon Man plays on his keyboard for us,
Writing sonnets for birthdays other than his own.
It seems only fair we reciprocate thus,
To make sure he knows that he's never alone.

Well, I've never been much of a poet, and I'm afraid I still am not, but Pen says I can write a poem, so I tried my best....(I wanted to make it as upbeat and fun as possible, thus it is a bit simple).

Always with a smile, he lifts up your day
If I could, I wouldn’t have it any other way
He makes me laugh and he makes me glad
As long as Pen’s here I and others will never be sad

Wonderful poems and humourous anecdotes
His signature, a D.L. Harris quote :D
Mentor too many, and friend to all
And when we feel down, Pen’s name we do call

Makes me feel welcome and the family whole
With his perfect kindness many hearts he has stole
So on this, most important of dates
Mon Ami, I’m glad we've crossed fates
