I would like to do some uncommersial advertising and tell you about my new hobby: Postcrossing!!
Postcrossing is about sending and receiving postcards to/from all over the world. It basically works like this: You join, you request a (random) adress, you send a card to the adress, your card arrives and gets registered, your adress is given to a random member, and finaly you receive a card yourself. If you are the slightest interested, please visite postcrossing.com for more information!
Current stats (from Nov 15, 2006 18.00 GMT+2 time):
16853 users
302971 postcards received
131 countries participating
42789 laps around the world
28884 postcards travelling
1714765224 km travelled
I guarantee Postcrossing is loads of fun! I have been a member for soon two months and I have already sent and received loads of cards to/from various countries. Postcrossing is a good and fun way to learn about other countries, cultures and people. I have also already got some nice emailing pals through Postcrossing. The best one is a nice Japanese Girl, who keeps sending me nice cards and brochures about her country (and of course I send her something back). Postcrossing is also a good way to practise foreign languges. Since there are many German speaking users I can write to in German my German is getting better all the time.
Here are some photos of the postcards I have received:

Please click on the pictures to make them bigger!! I regret I don't have a scanner, since the card are not at their best in this kind os pictures, and my arangement probably isn't the best either.
