Alone inside this mind that holds me
crying out for someone to hear me
hear my cries as I hit the floor.
No light inside, any voice to claim my sanity.
Holding me here with you,
like a caged bird.
snipped wings, flapping for a way out
still you hold the key
and still I sit inside myself
with these thoughts holding me
of you and I
and what we should have seen,
still hoping against what I see
will you see my wings you have destroyed?
No longer able to fly
I’m trapt with you
alone with you inside my mind
caged, cold inside
metal and ice.
angels singing with me
songs of pain that your memory brings to me
holding onto what we once were
never seeing what was right there
the inevitable
the unstoppable
the end of us
crying out from the cold floor of my mind
demonic angels sing with me
this cry, the silent voice that holds my sanity
its you, always will be
the keeper of my sanity
the keeper of the key
that holds me to myself
my keeper

Phew!! A lot of pain there:( I was able to see the images you described very easily and that points to your ability to use images to communicate your thoughts. The trapped yet dependant bird is a poignant image. Nice poem!!:D
