Hey everyone. I've just recently gotten into reading. I'm kinda sick of just being on the computer all the time doing random crap that really doesn't get me anywhere. But when I read, I actually feel productive, funny that. :p

Last night I did something I've never once done before in my life. Right when I got home from school and work, I picked up Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and just started reading. I ended up reading until about 12:30 a.m. and read 300 pages in one sitting. This is the first time I've ever done anything like this without being on the computer or watching t.v. when I get home from school and work. It felt pretty good if I may say so myself.

Anyway, I'm a 19 year old male living in the U.S. Hi. :)

hi slyj!

yippeee, once again im the first to post! iv done that so many times. so fun!

welcome! glad uv recently got into reading but unfortunately old boy-come and sit down, i need to warn you what ur getting into. once uv joined this forum and once uv got into reading you will become a socail outcast, you will have no friends  no social life (that includes sex life too)

you sure you can cope with that?

but look at the positives. you can pretend to be an intellect, act pompous, air your dirty laundry here.....and best of al...youv got all of us sad losers too  who will love you till....you abuse one of our fave books! amen to that.

have i scared you off?

oh another thing-plenty of fit birds here, grace, mir, themis, tender, Night, oh the list is endless so a young lad like urself should also be able to enjoy yourself.

WELCOME!

Thanks for the welcomes. Reading hasn't stopped since I made that post, finished the harry potter book I started along time ago, then I finished The Death of Ivan Ilyach in about 2 and a half hours earlier today. I'm starting into Siddhartha right now, sounds pretty interesting.

I'm finding I'm mostly into the philosophy type of books that make me question things and look at things from different perspectives, but I will read anything for the most part.

Oh yeah, and don't worry, you haven't scared me off...yet.
