Jessica,

Roses are red
Violets are blue,
My life changed for the better
The day I met you

It was the 25th of April
The site was a pool,
I was using my vacation days
You…had just finished school.

That Thursday, I had a “wing man” with me
Many drinks later we talked and we danced
After walking hours on the beach
We were in each other’s pants

Over the past 6 great months
We have laughed, loved and f----d,
But getting me back on the dance floor
Well…. You haven’t had much luck.

We enjoy each other’s company
As we have had barely a fight,
So this Saturday after the Dixie Chicks,
Whadda say we spend the night?

I have reserved a non-smoking King
We can swim, have a few drinks,
Because the following is a Sunday morning,
And I won’t be going to the rink.

I really do love and cherish you,
You have been wonderful to me and my son,
Every morning I wake up beside you
In the game of life, I definitely have won

This is the first poem I have written
Doing so caused me some angst
For all I wanted to do
Was find a way to say “THANKS!!”
