I don't remember liking this book when I read it in high school but I thought I'd give it one more try. I'm so glad I did because I thought it was amazing this time around. Huck's point of view cracks me up; I'm really glad Twain wrote the book through Huck's eyes. The frequent use of the word "nigger" made me cringe but I know that's the way Southerners talked back then and I know this book was meant as a satire on slavery. I loved the language of the book; I could distinctly hear every character when he/she spoke. The only part I got frustrated with was how Huck, who's proven himself to be resourceful if not intelligent, goes along with Tom's plans for saving Jim.
