My reply in your other thread..

Well... there are ways to browse 'anonymously', but do you really want to chance it? why did they block it in the first place? companies can track and store the history of *everything* on their comps, networks, and servers including sites visited, instant messaging convos, and use keystroke loggers. Big Brother is alive and well and making mucho dineros :D

If your using fortinet software...you can anon request that the rating of the site be changed...and presto autimatico...fortinet allows access (you can only do it twice a month from the same IP before the admin is notified)

otherwise...you could use a wireless signal not broadcast by your company...

I suppose you could also get the administrative codes and manually unlock the system...and if ye don't have them, and ye don't mind endevours of questionable legality...there are progs you can use to hack the accounts and find the codes...
...but before I jump ahead into that, check and see if you have admin status (sometimes the accts have admin status temporarily setup if the admin needed to install something in your local profile, and was being lazy) If you have admin access you can tunnel into the server and set things right...but if your company is like mine, chances are the restrictions are set at the router level, and all you'll need to do is hack the router security...which is easier than it sounds...all you need to do is find the make and model of the router...and then get its mac...and ip, your mac and your ip, and then logon to the router and use a password finder to hack the security...or if your lucky it'll be set to default (but any admin worth spit will have changed it)...then just either allow yourself to access the forum...or less detectible: replace this forum with another similar one and know ones the wiser...cause most admins won't take the time to check the address.

but chance are its a web based prog that checks against known sites...so it is eisier to find a solution if you know which prog it is...

Could you paste a screen shot...or better yet...list the name of the blocker (if applicable)

ok, next problem:

I get a new laptop (hasn't been delivered yet).

Then I get all uppity and send an email to my buddy in IT and ask why they blocked my website. He tells me that they didn't block it, the blocking program automatically updates and just happened to catch this site. AND he unblocked this site for me!!!!

Now for the big question..............Should I cancel my laptop order???

I guess that's up to you. Was that bought out of the company's money or yours? I have my laptop at home and I use it all the time. This way I'm with my wife watching TV and I'm goofing off on the web sites at the same time.

Let me explain to you my understanding --

The scope if Internet is bigger than www. It (Internet) includes www, that is one of the activities you can do using Internet is browse (using any kind of browser), access webpages. To access a web page, you need to provide a URL.

Now, using Internet you can do more than just browse on www.

- Remote login: provide the IP address and remotely login to any computer, anywhere and work on it.

- FTP: transfer / recieve files, again by using an IP address.

These are a few that I have come across.

Does this explanation help?

Can I afford to keep it??? That's a little fuzzy... I mean , yeah I can pay for it no problem, but on the other hand I could do other things with that money.....but on the other hand I do very much miss downloading music...

I think owning a computer wont be such a bad idea, you'll find more things that can be done, once you start using it full time...:D
