SleepyWitch

hope this hasn't been done before :)

How many siblings have you got (please vote)?

Are they older or younger than you, how many brothers or sisters each?

I have a younger bro (22) but no sisters

Is something to be concluded from this poll??

I have two brothers.

I am the second one. :D

Not a very good position to be.... There are expectations from both, you have to be the elder one and the younger one at the same time.

heehee, I meant in terms of "number of children per family" Maddhy.
I think by current birth rates in Germany my family is above average (1.2 or something), but when my bro and me were born birth rates were higher.

Madhuri

I got it...

It is about 1.8. Birth rate (http://www.unicef.org/infobycountry/india_india_statistics.html#16)

Six, five brothers, one sister and I'm right in the middle. Three older brothers, two younger brothers and my sister is the baby. My younger sister just gave birth to her fifth and sixth children, I have two, which proves that the ability to learn by others' mistakes is diluted in direct proportion to where you fall in the birth order.

Sure, you can rent one of mine! :D (I'm the oldest, so I'm allowed to rent them ;) ) I've got a younger sister (18) who is in college...she's a great e-mail writer. A younger brother (16) who just got a new car and loves writing children's stories. A step-sister (also 18) who I haven't seen in a while but I promise you she is a wild one! ...and another half-brother who is 9 now and loves Yu-Gi-Oh....take your pic, but it's a 3-month lease! Expectations are high but both of them are always giving me suggestions, you know like.....Why dont you do this or that, this will be good for you...:D And I am always saying to them...Ya Ya, I know, I can take care of myself

And, to some extent it is this family structure, that has given me more freedom to follow my dreams as compared to many girls I know. So, there are good points and not so good points.....But I am glad I am the only one, its sometimes that I wish for a sister, as you cant talk heart to heart with them or mom n dad, but I get all the attention...he he he...:D :p

If I remember correctly, you once started a poll about some kind of weird monument or statue in Nürnberg where the people taking the poll could decide between having the statue with chairs(!) or without them  About the funniest question for a poll I ever came across! :p But I think in the same poll you even explained yourself by alleged addiction to polls. Though this question here seems a lot more comprehensible to me, I see you're still not cured :p

Pendragon

I have 7 siblings. My dad and mom divorced before I turned 5. At that time, all I knew is that I had my older sister, Teresa, (older by 6 years) and my brother Allen (the baby, younger by 4 years.) I later in life found out that I had two brothers that had died as children, Malcolm (the oldest of us, born premature and only lived 4 days) and "Chip" (the brother between me and my sister, who died just over a year old of pneumonia). Then the family closet produced some skeletons. I have a sister who is half-Vietnamese, from where Dad had been in the war. Her name is Lisa, and she doesn't know I know, because they have always tried to hide things. So I go with the flow. I also have a Half-brother named David who is close to my Sister Teresa's age, which, again the story is hidden, but facial features do not lie. Lastly, the one they do admit to, my half-sister Charlene, only two months younger than my brother Allen. As my nephew said right to my Dad's face: "Yeah, I understand. Grandpa got around!"

Okay, I'm your sister. Are you my brother or sister? :)

By the way, I have 2 other sistahs and a brother.

1st - me
2nd - Toni

the poor little guys :(
It sucks when people hide the truth like this.
My dad has got a half-Czech half-brother from my grandpa's first marriage to a Czech woman before WWII. They were properly married and everything, and yet grandpa kept it a secret. Dad eavesdropped on a conversation between grandpa and grandma (second wife) and found out when he was 5, but he doesn't know his brother's name or where he lives and grandpa and grandma are both dead, so we'll never find out.

My sister is 8 years older than me and she hated me when we were kids, she told my mom once that she was worried she would really hurt me someday so she as never allowed to babysit. We're close now but when I was growing up, I would've loved not to have a sister. :p My brother was my best friend when we were kids, he's 4 years older and was the perfect big brother, I was very grateful for him and I was like the little brother he never had, we played football, army, basketball, baseball and he always got to be the boss. ;)

well, my parents were in the house but he was in his room with the door shut with some little chic.

See, it seems like only yesterday he was collecting Pokemon and doing other little kid stuff. And if he's growing up then that means I am getting old.

I guess it looked like maybe my parents were in the room with them? I dunno...

I have four older brothers and an older foster-sister. I had a younger brother who died when he was just a few hours old, but I'm not really supposed to talk about that. I also have 8 neices and nephews (this might not sound strange here, but people at school always give me funny looks when we're talking about families and I tell them). My oldest neice (technically step-neice) is kind of like a younger sister to me, because she's only 18 months younger and we get on really well.

The younger two of my brothers hate me :( I've got no idea why. But I'm so glad that I have my foster-sister (she's left home now, but we're still really close). It's nice to have an older sister, because without her I think that I would have just turned into a boy.

The annoying thing is that my dad never wanted a daughter, so he would always take my brothers' sides if we argued. And if my mum said anything, then he'd just have a go at her as well, so it's no wonoder that Tom and Dan learned that they could bully me, I suppose. I am just so grateful that I have my foster-sister. I don't know what I would do without her.

Younger sister, older brother, older step-sister, younger step-brother. I also usually count my two cousins as my brothers too, that would add one to the older category and one to the younger category.

:eek2: Oh no!!! (the all-the-chores bit)

The good thing about brothers is that they can put up shelves and stuff. And also have a scary amount of camping things so that I don't need to buy new for D of E. But they are annoyingly over-protective.

Don't be lonely! :bawling: Although I sometimes wish that there was a bit more peace and quiet around.

I have five sibling. Four sisters and one brother. My eldest sister Frances is 41.(17 year difference.), Aileen is turning 40, Valarie is 35, my brother stephen is 26 and then there is my sister claire and myself 24. Claire is technically older than me by 1min so i'm regarded as the youngest.:( but i dont mind!
my older sisters where old enough to babysit claire and myself when we were born. My english teather for secondary school could even remember when i was born because Fran was in school with here sister. freaky!
I also have two neices and three nephews. my eldest niece is turning 18 this month. something like that makes one feel old even when one is still relitively young.:bawling:

I have 2 sisters, one older and one younger. Does that mean I have a normal American family? Is it 2.5 children? Perhaps we'll have to decide which half of which one of us is to be sacrificed. :p Or, we could be fair and each give up one sixth of ourselves. Maybe this math isn't working out correctly, or ethically.

I am all alone in the world...:p Naw, but I am alone in that I have no siblings. Which means I do all possible chores around the house:rolleyes:

You should be happy for that, Drame. Believe me, dividing work and making all the kids do their chores is so difficult. Our household would become a battle ground, every weekend we three were assigned our tasks of cleaning, wiping, and every odd thing that our parents wanted us to do. And, it would almost become a matter of life and death, if one of us had to wipe one more table which the other one was supposed to do, it would actually be too much that was asked for . I so much wished that time if I could only plant a few bombs under my brothers beds  (and I am sure they wanted to do the same to me)

Every weekend it will be like "Its his turn, I only did it last week" or "No, its her turn, I always do it"

It isnt so now, my brothers are very good, but that time it was like, why dont they just vanish somewhere :D

Oh, but I do miss it now so much, both of them live at different places, and I am only one left here. Its the same home and all those who leave have new things to explore and new memories to make, but those who are left behind are the ones who forever live in those old memories. Whenever they come, our house is bustling with activity, we see old photographs, talk about silly things, tease each other, but when they are gone and otherwise also its almost dead and very silent. ~sigh~

But, still I maintain that making your siblings work is the toughest thing

I have a younger brother, he will be 18 this year. Which is scary, and means that I'm really old (he's 7.5 years younger than me). I used to hate him until he was about 14, then we started to become more and more 'friends', soon he started to like the same kind of music I like so we have talks about that etc. Not friends like I'd be friends with a girl of my age, so no deep stuff, but we occasionally cover each other for stuff we don't want parents to know etc.
Sometimes he's still a pain though and we argue because he still acts like a real kid sometimes.
And to my knowledge he still doesn't have a girlfriend nor he gives a damn about it, he's much more into going out and spending time with friends and play football and such rather than acting cool and losing his friends to spend time with a girl. Which I'm glad about cos I think it's healthy and cos I'd feel really bad to see my little brother be more succesful than me even if I'm so much older!
And he's a bit too much into going to the gym lately which is horribly annoying and is making him shallow and only caring of his horrible muscles
