I reckon many of you know this war novel by Pierre Boulle or have seen the film. I had seen the movie some years ago and read the book this summer. Otherwise good book but I found it quite annoying how the author was constantly rambling about the superiority of Europeans (especially Brits) over Asians.

Guess a book set in the gulag and amongst Finn pows might contain references to Finnish superiority over their captors.

The movie is a classic but the book was a letdown. I wanted more insights into the characters--their motives/ambitions/fears/etc.
