If possible, hoping someone will let me know where I can get a copy of "The Stolen Child" original manuscript.

Just want to then get it framed and put it on a wall where I see it every day.

Know I most likely am not using the correct terminology, so hopefully will help by describing my request another way, i.e., want to have a copy of the original poem 'in his own hand'.

Have talked with Kristen Nyitray at Stony Brook University in New York. Kristen was very helpful but also set my expectations by pointing out that should they have it in their Yeats Collection, the quality of the copy would reflect the fact it was from a microfilm of the original.

So basically asking where and if possible to get a 'first-generation' copy of the original manuscript.

Thanks,

Daud

Well you seem to be on the right track. A quick google search for "Yeats collection" brings up a few other universities/libraries holding collections of Yeats' papers. Many of them list the exact contents.

Indeed photocopies of microfilm are very sketchy sometimes, but you might just luck out and they have the original and a photocopy of that will be better, good luck in your quest :)

Truthfully you'd be very lucky to get an original copy, but you could always contact the Irish Writers museum on Parnell Square, dublin 1, Ireland, and see if they have any printed copies of the original manuscript for sale. just a thought and any original vol of the collection of poems it was bounded with would prob cause a lot of money. As for a copy in his script... Priceless!
