It HAS to be Rob Roy, yes it is slow but it is wonderful.

yay! a month where Im more or less free except for 2 3000 word essays but still!
I enjoyed ivanhoe but never got past the 3rd chapter of rob roy

I think we should read the pirate though seeing who we are an' all :D

I've never read Walter Scott, and I have wanted too. Yay, this will be a great opportunity. I don't know yet which to vote for. Several sound great. Maybe i'll be like Papaya and sell my vote at the end. :D

Rob Roy is a nice movie, so reading it won't be very interesting! Go Ivanhoe!

The novel by Scott has nothing to do with the film, different time period (slightly), characters, storyline. The film was based on other Rob Roy legends.

I'm a newbie to Sir Walter Scott as well, and Waverley and The Heart of Mid-Lothian are the only titles that sound somewhat familiar to me, so I go with Waverley.

I've read Ivanhoe and Rob Roy, so I voted for Waverley.BTW why there is no "Quentin Dorvard" in the list?

hummm maybe I can get a nice smelling copy of ivanhoe or the lady of the lake the last copy I had of ivanhoe was great it was ingraved and everything 100 years ol ( of course that was in Egypt)...
