A girder is a main support beam used in structures, it is typically steel. There was a slogan for the Scottish soft drink IRN-BRU that it was made in Scotland from girders (until the EU said that the slogan could not be used as it was false advertising), adverts used to picture a boy drinking IRN-BRU then bending a steel girder into a shape for his girl.

i love irn bru. you should really try it night :) it tastes like liquid gum bears (er, is that what you call them in English? do you know Haribo Goldbears?).
do you have the Turkish soft drink Uludag in Egypt? Irn Bru is a bit like that but more... orange :)
