I just finished this yesterday... I read it years ago in a rush for an exam, but never got my head around the family connections and the different narrators... but this time I took my time and just LOVED it! So dark and passionate... and I'd love to shake Nelly sometimes and say 'No, don't say nothing...' ... but she keeps quiet and the story keeps rolling relentlessly to the conclusion... I'm a big Jane Eyre fan, read it first when I was 12, and this is so totally different, one so moralistic, the other exposing every flaw and bad characteristic... Lockwood is the only 'good' person in the Victorian sense and even he is flighty... fabulous stuff.
