Bah, dreadful things. I have a Nokia albeit an old one. It is about 4 inches long so you know it is old. Aren't the new ones like about a centimetre long now? :p

I am just going to cancel my account. I hardly ever even use the thing and I hate talking on the phone anyway.

i have a nokia but it's not that great, i missed my old one, i only changed it cos it was more than 5 years old and the odd time when i really had to use it it didnt work that well...i just hardly ever noticed cos i didnt use it too much... but once i was out for the whole weekend and used it a lot to look for people i had to meet etc, and on the second day already it wss dead so on the monday i was cut off from the world and just went back home.

My current mobile is a Nokia 6070.

N 70...its such a cool mobile.....good choice Miss T......I cant afford it, its very expensive, for me atleast. Especially when one doesnt use it frequently, spending huge amounts on cell doesnt seem practical.

Mine is Samsung. Actually its my father's, we gifted him a new one on his retirement, so I get to use this model. Earlier it was Sony Ericsson and I had to change it as everyone started calling it a 'stone age' mobile....

Its a necessary evil, I guess.

I dont like keeping it, but have to jus' incase I am stuck somewhere and need help. But what I despise is the expectation it brings, eventhough no one calls me and I know no one will, still I expect a call all the time, its so annoying. Life was easier when cellphones wern't invented. Also, I recieve most calls when I leave my cell home, I come back and there are some 10 missed calls and 5 sms's waiting for me, where are these people when I expect a call.

Nokia and it's ancient, you could kill an elephant with it :)
I use it a lot for texting but not for talking coz it's too expensive.

I heard that in the U.S. people hardly text but use their mobiles for talking a lot? isn't it more expensive than landline?
over here talking on the mobile is way more expensive than landline

Mine is a Nokia. I don't answer my home line because anyone who does call for me calls my cell.

Umm..

I actually think texting is more expensive over here. I know all the little highschool kids are into texting during class (it's cool you know )

I don't use texting. In fact, it has been disabled on my phone because of some weirdo text/calls. I do talk on my cell all the time though.

I'm not sure it's cool,Maddie. It proved to have some technical problems!I sometimes feel like kiling it:D I've many times thought of changing Nokia brand to any other ,but I hear many warnings ! they say Nokia is the best and the most easiest mobiles brand, wonder if this true?
are you comfortable with Samsung?maybe it'll be my next choice.

it's expensive here too,the mobiles themselves, however, texting is cheap>>calls are expensive!so we mostly use texting, but calls can't be avoided.

Madhy, have you ever watched those series from the 80s where the detective carries around a huge suitcase with a phone receiver in it?
well, mine's almost as bad as this ;)

(heehee, I'm only joking, of course.. it's Nokie 3550i or some number like this)

how much is one text in the U.S.?

Really?? Some people I know, have this model and they say its a good one. I too have heard the same thing, that Nokia is the best, that is, it is robust and all.

Its not about comfort, if I was able to afford I would have bought a better handset, but it was easily available to replace my 'stone age' mobile...he he he....so I am using Samsung.

Here calls and sms's are not expensive (I think so) some companies offer flat rates on call or sms (Rs. 1) and even for outstaion calls (rates vary for international calls). So, you can use any mode of communication.

what's i mate, Miss T? never heard of it.
what about LG? are they the same LG who do computer screens? didn't know they do mobiles

lots of people have Siemens over here but I don't like them, the menus aren't exactly user friendly. they do look fancy, though

I have Nokia 6610i. There's crappy camera, radio and gprs which I don't even need. And a large crack in the middle of the screen, but it doesn't bother me: usually I don't even notice it. This is the third phone I own, all of them have been Nokia's. The only reason I keep buyng them, is that I'm too lazy to learn to use other phones.

Believe it or not: my phone bill is 3-4€/a month :). I just hate talking in phone (because I can hear people's voices but not see them) and sending text messages (too slow), so mostly I keep contact with my friends via Internet.

it's incredibale, huge memeory, small lap top, long time recorder.....most importantly,it's not that expenssive,I mean has same prices as Nokia's even though it's properties are far more better.

I think over here they charge texting by the number of characters you have...like two cents a character or something. I really don't know, like I said, I have never used it....just received them.

Can't stand texting either. If someone is going to waste time to text a message to me, I'd rather them call me. I get the enjoyment out of hearing their voice, and it is always easier to clarify things when speaking. Also have to mention that sometimes I think the IMing and texting is starting to degenerate the language of people who don't read. I hate hearing someone in real life saying "WTF"...it just makes me laugh...why??!!

Haha...when I first started IMing people, I knew that I was spending too much time doing it when I caught myself almost saying "el-oh-el" (lol) out loud in conversation! I also read WTF something like "wotefe" heehee...

My phone is a cute lil LG that looks like all the ones you see in the commercials that say "Text ASTRO1 to 44515 and get your horoscope every day" lol...it's cute to me but I guess generic in the world of cellular phones...

I'm on a family plan and in general recieving and making phone calls is fairly cheap and texting is more expensive, but I opted for a special plan where for just 5 dollars a month more I get unlimited texting...so it's all fairly cheap for me :p

The long suffering spouse decided she wanted a cp--so far so good and I continued to graza in my dinosaur pasture. Then she decided she wanted a prettier one and I was left with her used Nokia trhu the Cingular plan--unasked/unwanted and much debated over. The irony is the moron that sold her the second phone did a second contract on her and we pay double which has come in handy in my never ending mantra''I told you so" or "If you had asked me first!!!!"

This cp had a major part in my midlife crisis from last Feb but that's an old lament sooner left in the dust and MANY lessons are being experiencec over that.
