Hello, My name is Susan Rektorik Henley and I just recently joined this forum site. I live in rural north-east Texas on a farm where I raise Boer meat goats. I share my life with my 19-year old daughter, the man in my life, five dogs, two cats, three horses, and over 100 goats. Most of the time, my reading pertains to health issues of the goats so I read a lot of veterinary medical, parasitology, and pharmacology texts. However, recently, I have spent time reading alternative history versions the early Catholic church. This led me to texts on Gnosticism.

The main reason I am here is because I am looking to find others who are now reading or have read Faust by Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe with particular interest in the Romantic/Hermetic/Alchemical aspects of this version of the myth. Given that I cannot read German, I am reading the English version, translated in the original meters, by Bayard Taylor which has a 1870 copyright date.

I would appreciate it very much if someone can tell me if there is a forum for Faust and the aspects in which I am interested.

Hi Susan. You can find the forum on Faust here (http://www.online-literature.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=3530). I haven't read it, but I have read Dr. Faustus by Christopher Marlowe.

Enjoy yourself on the forums.
