Has anyone ever seen worse prose in a book intended for adults? Good God, it was like reading Green Eggs & Ham!
* I have no idea why I wrote THE Anthem, as I knew perfectly well the real title of the book. Whoops.

I have read much worse prose, but I think that the simplicity of the prose was intended to give an example of the simplicity of the theme. There are much better ways to express the same ideas.

I loved the book. I don't even know why, because egoism is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard of, but the story was nice. Maybe because it was kind of like a children's book in the progression of the plot. I have no shame in reading children's books, as one of my favorite stories of all time is Wind in the Willows. But really, it was quite an effective way for Rand to get her message across.
