a beggar's love

you tell him that you love him
and give him little coin
little hug and kiss
and off you go a new friend you'll miss

lo! how do you fail to see!
this beggar in the cold and deepest misery!
at night he fights the monsters
tearing away his soul
and still finds courage
even when his head became so bold

you walk to home and think about this man
how good you have it, you do what you can
a mighty prayer, humble to the Lord
with deepest respect, im sure you had it cold

lo! how you fail to touch
this beggar's heart and what else not
for all the coins he has received
not for one single coin he had to weep
who is it, clinged torwards this mess?
and yet you think... his life he fled

to all you claim you help the weak
to all you claim you are the meak
and yet, how do you fail to see
this beggar's true misery
is that his love
is far, far more
a human can ever be

you give him... a little coin
a hug and kiss
and off you go
a friend you'll miss
the truth is that his love
is far, far more... your loss
