Greetings,

I am new to this forum.

I read Little Women many years ago, so, I really don't remember details about the book...will have to re-read it again soon. I watched the movie yesterday. Loved it. Does anyone know the ages of the sisters, and also Laurie and the professor?

A good amount of time does pass between the beginning and end of the book, but I remember at one point Meg is 17 (just around the time she begins to have feelings for John Brooke), Jo is 16, Beth is 14, and Amy is 12. Laurie and Jo are the same age. Mr. Brooke is a good 10 years older than Meg, maybe more. At other times during the novel, Alcott refered to their ages but of course there were times when Meg was 17 and Jo was 15, to account for the time lapse before birthdays. The book ends when Meg, Jo, and Amy are grown up with children of their own.
