Hi,
I posted a while back about wanting to compare a book to Albert Camus's The Stranger, and now it's kind of urgent, and I am sorry for opening another thread, but for some reason I can't find the other one.. Anyways, any good recommendations to a novel I can compare to Albert Camus's The Stranger? I need to compare themes, either compare and contrast or contrast and contrast. Can someone recommend a book and than outline what exactly the comparison would be? It would be highly appreciated :)!

Regards,

Some other existentialists would be a good start. Kierkegaard, Sartre, Dostoevsky, etc. I won't get in too deep here because I haven't actually read The Stranger.

i think it would be interesting to compare the main characters in both "nausea" and "the stranger": the main character from Sartre's novel was a very contemplative and reflective person while Meursault has more of a devil may care attitude (reminds me of Belmodo's characters in Godard's cinema), with Sartre you get to hear all of Sartre's insight from the mouth of Antoine himself while Camus presents you with a sort of morally reprehensible person (in some aspects) and mostly you are left, or, perhaps forced to re-evaluate what you think about certain aspects of life, that is, to draw your own conclusions.
