In America, the month of October has two fairly well known holidays....Columbus Day and Halloween. Apparently there are more holidays that are not so well known. Here is a list of some past and upcoming holidays that can be celebrated regardless of one's nationality. Personally, I am very sad that I missed Moldy Cheese day but I am looking forward to Babbling day since that is one of the things I do best....:D

Read about more little known holidays here (http://library.thinkquest.org/2886/INDEX.HTM) I cannot recommend using one of these holidays as a reason to take off work or school, but it is so crazy it might just work!

I like national babbling day. What a coincidence that it also happens to be my sister's birthday.

I knew there was a reason why she talks so much :D

ha ha! Mole day is actually a holiday! that' really amusing - i thought my science teacher was kidding. we're actually having a party on that day! (the class is chemistry, and a mole is some important number, 10^23 i think (which makes sense because it's on 10/23.))

My favorite small holiday is Pi Day, on March 14th. In highschool we'd bring pie to our math classes. x)
