D.H.Lawrence believed staunchly in his 'Blood Philosophy' which is quite evident from his works. What can be said about that? I'm doing a Research project on this topic and I am at a loss. Plz help me.

Yes, he did. I'm trying to remember. He believed that true knowledge came from the blood, and that the reason the modern world had gone bad was because man had intellectualized life. That's a really simplified summary, but I'm afraid that's the best I can do right now.

thanx.
but didn't it say that the sole aim of marriages should be the satisfaction of physical desires without any mental or spiritual connection.

"Blood philosophy" must not be taken literally, though it is tempting. D.H.Lawrence himself never used this in his novels ( for example, Women in Love and The Plumed Serpent) and short stories concerned. This is rather "blood consciousness" and it is not merely the physical desires fulfilled, but the expression and self-realization by one's body. The mind is just a complication and an obstacle in the way of expression of the body. But this does not necessarily negate some sort of spiritual life., but a true spiritual life not "the sham spirituality of the modern times" ( rough quote). I think that the idea of the "blood consciousness" is one the most modernistic of Lawrence's ideas, and it is far ahead of its time. It is furhter developed in the love and other relationships between the charachters. There is far more to be said on the topic, I think I can annswer more specific questions, if you have such.
