I have a huge problem!!!I have to read "there came a day at summer's full" by emily dickinson and make some notes for my english class...but I really can't understand anathing in this poem...if anyone CAN please help!!!

There came a Day at summer’s full

There came a Day at Summer's full,
Entirely for me —
I thought that such were for the Saints,
Where Resurrections — be —

The Sun, as common, went abroad,
The flowers, accustomed, blew,
As if no soul the solstice passed
That maketh all things new —

The time was scarce profaned, by speech —
The symbol of a word
Was needless, as at Sacrament,
The Wardrobe — of our Lord —

Each was to each The Sealed Church,
Permitted to commune this — time —
Lest we too awkward show
At Supper of the Lamb.

The Hours slid fast — as Hours will,
Clutched tight, by greedy hands —
So faces on two Decks, look back,
Bound to opposing lands —

And so when all the time had leaked,
Without external sound
Each bound the Other's Crucifix —
We gave no other Bond —

Sufficient troth, that we shall rise —
Deposed — at length, the Grave —
To that new Marriage,
Justified — through Calvaries of Love —

ok let me give this my best shot. i'm not great at this but i'll try. First we have to know that emily dickinson looks at religion in a different light, for example, it was strict that christians go worship in a church every sunday, worshiping in prayer at home didn't count and she says in another of her poems that her garden is her chapel where she can talk to God and the birds are the choir and appreciate nature, something God made. so knowing this i shall try to break it apart stanzaa by stanzaa. i'll number them for you.
1. The entire beautiful summer day came just for her when she thought that things as special as this were never made for any imperfect mortal; any one who can do wrong. she ties in the part about resurrections to give a likeness that resurrections happen to the holiest of saints (such as jesus: more holy than a saint), and perfect days were made for nature, not humans, they were made for perfect beings (jesus) to enjoy.but also she might be talking about death and how resurrections are just for saints, or so she thought.
2. The sun spread across the sky far and wide like every other day, the flowers blew, like they usualy do, in the wind as if this day wasn't special, as if this wasn't the first day of summer, as if nothing important would happen.
3.There was not enough time, so time flew by, and the time was scarce (rare)profaned (not devoted to holy or religious purposes),so change those to worlds to scarcely profane and you get the meaning "rarely not devoted to religios purpose, so i think the time was used to talk or fight about or do religious actions. (so i think she realy is talking about a war or a battle.), then she's talking about anything anyone of the enemies could say would be needless, useless, and she compares it to how useless the lord's wardrobe is, when what is important is himself, his being, and the sacrament, he gives to us. (sounds like anything the one would say, the other wouldn't care or listen, even if the one was right.)
4.Each side, the two enemies, belonged to different religions, both thinking they were the "right", "correct" religion (which leads me to believe that this fight is over religions). Each allowed to commune(go to church and celebrate mass), (i believe when she says The Sealed Church, it might pertain to the idea of families, and men being "sealed" to prominent church leaders in the 1800's to bring themselves closer to having a more holy life on earth and in the after life and it becomes the relationship of leader and big group of followers which makes me think that the church leaders were fighting and their followers were helping to fight). lest(for fear of) we too awkward show at supper of the lamb. (so i think she's saying both religions were allowed to go to their churches to celebrate mass even though they were about to kill one another and they were afraid and didn't want to make the mass, them being there, awkward.
5. The time went fast, so the day was passing (i think the time of battle was getting closer) and i think the enemies were getting greedy, anxious for this battle, but also at the same time the time was slipping by, (so i think they were both anxious but hesitant). two faces, two sides look back bound to opposite sides.
6. So when the time was up and it was time to fight, without a sound,( maybe this means everyone knew it was time and no one had to say it.), they killed one another (using the crucifix of jesus, to show how much they suffered and again probably to parallel that the fight was about religions and maybe even saying that they were both good men dying for a good cause) and when she says we gave no other bond she saying (double meaning: there was nothing else to bind but their crusifixes: their death, and at the same time saying they had no other relationship other than being enemies.)
7. when she says : Sufficient troth, that we shall rise deposed at length- she's saying: a troth (faithful promise to marry) good enough for each of them.
the Grave to that new Marriage: they were going to marry their graves (of course not literaly)
Justified through Calvaries of Love : defended, and justified by calvaries of Love. (so in this last stanzaa she's saying they died with a promise to death(they knew they were going to die) and the religions they worshiped were a good enough reason for them to die for and their calvaries(their followers) justified their death (confirmed their death had a rightful purpose) by showing up and fighting for them, standing by them, and recognizing their death).

ok so i hope this helps you, i'm sorry i didn't help sooner and i hope my analysis is correct. just remember that she is talking about religion, making comparisons to religion all throughout, she's using jesus to show religion in religion. i hope that isn't confusing for you. i think it might be though. Now: here's the big part, she could be this whole time in this whole poem inferring that she is the religion and the two leaders are fighting for her love. that last line "justified through calvaries of love" makes me think that, but i could also be wrong, it could just be that she is a spectator of this whole fight of two religious leaders, but keep the love possibility in mind.
let me know how class goes and what the teacher thinks of this interpertation, because i want to see if i was right!
