I have been very busy this year and could not enjoy a good and close relationship with God. I hope Ramadan will give me the oppurtunity to purify my soul and tidy up the messy muddle in my head, so that I can renew the old friendship with God - If God would accept me.

Last Ramadan I was able to get rid of my addiction to TV (though I did not manage to read the quran completely (which was one of my plans) :( ). The Ramadan before that I got rid of my addiction to coffee and choclate - which was terribe. ;)

What are other fellows planning to do?

Hello!
It's great that you got rid of the tv addiction thingy..
It's really sad when you see how people turned Ramadan into a food and tv month instead of renewing thier faith and thier relationship with God in this great apportunity..
I finished Qura'an last year...couldn't do that the year before...hopefully this year I'll finishe it again..
Praying in the mosque is essintial for me as well...
Reading more about Islam is one of my plane..but I still dunnow if I can fullfil that...cuz of my studying and all...but I'm hoping that God will help me and give me the time and stregnth...
I def. did many wrong things this year...so I made a promise with myself that I'll make the best out of Ramadan this year...so that I'll make up for anything I did that is wrong...I hope that God will accpet me in this month...and hopefully I'll be from those who are pardoned this month...
I hope we ALL we'll be forgiven this month...

We will try our best to become more and more faithful, and to more pure by fasting and praying night, insha ALLAH will try to finish holy Quran twice by reading 2 goz' in salat alqyam. May Allah help use to worship him as should and to accept our deeds and make them all for him and no one else, ameen.

Plans for this Ramadan?? Well, I've never planned anything and postponed it till Ramadan. I leave Ramadan to do all its magic in me without planning. I always try to limit my activities into reciting the Quran ,reading books ,praying(it's just so sad when you miss any prayer at the masjid,I try hardly not too),charity acts. I always seek a good reciter and enjoy every single word and spirituality of it. I wish for me and you to visit Alharam Almaki.I'm kinda addicted to Saud Alshareem reciting ,so it'll be amazing if he will be available at the time. Allahuma a3tiq righabana min alnar wa ir7mna wa walideena.off the topic: what is your favorite dish in breakfasting? Sambosaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa???yah?sure: D

:p

I see the topic has become "food"!

Amazing and ironic how in Ramadan food becomes so much more important: people take so much care in preparing it and using rich and fresh ingridients etc.

And miss tenderness you are so lucky to be able to take it easy and focus and mediate and pray: I for my part have to work on my project and would be walking from this lab to that lab. But fortunately I am strong enough to work without eating :brow: . But I must still reduce my work load ...

Reading quran for you people must be easy cause I assume it is your mothertongue - in my case I read it first in Arabic then read the translation ...

well,I'm not work free in this month. We used to have Ramadan as a vacation but not anymore. Now we take just the last ten days of it as holiday.I have to go to work and run from class to another as well;)but you now evrything is recorded ,so your hardships would never go for nothing. I try not to leave my work unfinished along with my focus on reading the holy Quran and other activities. The thing is that in this month you can accomplish things more than any other month. Do you feel the same?

@Bita: Well I don't usualy focus that much on food in Ramdan..lol
It just happened that we both like Sambossa...lol
About the Qur'an part...remember that the reward is on how much effort and trouble you've been through...you can be getting more sawab than many other muslims who have arabic as thier mother language...
Reagrding the work part and all, actually...I have university too...and it makes me SO VERY TOO busy..lol
We don't take Ramadan as a vacation (which is VERY irritating and stupid if you ask me) I mean Ramadan is only ONE month in the entire year...how much can this delay anything anyways?!
@Miss Tenderness: Where are you from? I don't know what's called in other arabic accents...it's just kobeba in Egypt..lol
heya 3obara 3an la7ma mafrooma bel bor'3ol..lol
Made in the shape of an egg...lol
Did you get ANY of what I just said anyways...lol

yes ,yes:D:D:Dgot what u mean:lol: that would be Kiba here. I love it espeically with Lemon. Do you follow the sunnah in iftar? I mean do u limit your iftar on dates and water or juice or cofee and then after prayer you complete the fatoor? I myself have all of my fotoor stiff one time and then pray. I wont recommend this for anybody! you know the Sunnah is more health plus the ajir:)

well I eat first then I pray later because specially in this ramadan al fatoor is late its at 6:30 so its really hard to pray first when you are so hungry but I'll try too and my favourite thing in Ramadan is 2mr eldeen , but its funny when people become really nice in ramadan , all of them pray , read Quran , treat each others well but when the month is over everything return back like before ,:( I dont know but do you notice these things? , I know that Ramadan is a chance to make your relation with god better but i think that the point is to keep this relation .!

@Miss Tenderness: Actually it depends...sometimes I pray first and sometimes (not very proud of it..lol) I become SO hungry and I eat first...
But the Sunnah is def. better..
@Samah: I totally agree...Ramadan is like the energy that keep you going throught the rest of the year...people shouldn't just act in a good islamic way only in Ramadan..but for the rest of the year...cuz I personally beileve that what you do during the year is what makes you act good in Ramadan like when we pray we say "alahoma bale'3na Ramadan"..so I think that what you do during the year is what makes you reach Ramadan...Ya know what I mean..

@Samah: I don't watch TV in Ramadan actually..
We basically shut it off...lol
Plus there isn't time EVEN if I wanted to..lol
between the prayers, Qura'an and studing.
I only have the time to watch Amr Khaled's show on Ikra'a channel
Do you know it?!

Amr khalid in a genius. I like how smoothly and easily he grasps things and the way he presents them.I try not to watch TV in Ramadan ,trying to concentrate on reciting Quran ,but you know there are many good programs. Do u watch the one in MBC with sheikh Salman Alawdah?in the afternoon. I like his intellectuality and his deep understanding for everything currently going on..
