Fishing
Sitting on the land,
I angle for fish in the water.
I pull up the rod.
A fish glides through the air.
A short arc,
encompasses water, air and land.
The Shadow
A cow bears a herdboy on its back,
who bears the setting sun.
The sun draws out the shadow of the cow
and that of the boy.
The boy cracks a whip;
the cow flicks its tail,
flinging the sun below the horizon,
leaving the whole world
in darkness
and shadow.
Rain
Garrulous gods in heaven,
spatter saliva,
which treks a long way
into thoughts on the land.
The thinker says:
the clamor of human beings disturbs God,
who quells the land with flooding.
