Do I dare defy what is my destiny?
Do I dare end my life that was ordained by the Gods?
I will bow to no one, make sure you hear me
Will people look on me differently if I died?
I a Tolemy, queen of Egypt, this I was destined to be
Now I am locked away and there is no way to flee
I will make sure my name is known forever, see
I am supposed to rule, I am supposed to be free.
I, Cleopatra, a prisoner within my own domain
I will ensure my name will live in infamy
My handmaidens and I within this prison must remain
But I think I have devised a way out of this, see.
Isis, my mother, my goddess, please forgive me for what I am about to do
I will not be imprisoned within my own land
My choices here are so very few
I asked for a basket of figs, this way I can implement my plan.
The Egyptian cobra within the basket is hidden
His bite can only bring the freedom of death
My handmaidens will follow me, as I hope I am not committing a sin
Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt, now I take my last breath.
