No. None of them. Even if you want to waste your time I'm sure you can find something a lot better than Brown's novels.

Well, I read "The Da Vinci Code" when it came out and I really liked it. I still think it is a wonderfull book. When I read it, it was far way from becoming a commercial and a mass reading book. I really can recommend it to anyone...
It`s very commercial now...Yet, the book is nice and make you think about some things and gives interesting ideas abouth church.;)

I've read three of Dan Brown's novels: Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons, and Digital Fortress. To be honest, they're quite entertaining to read. But i would in no way endorse them as "good" novels. Their value of entertainment is something that borders comic book entertainment.

his novels (especially the da vinci code) aren't as good as what the hype makes them out to be, but they're also not as bad as some people claim them to be. incidentally, all of his books are the same, so if you read one, you've read all. you really should read the da vinci code instead of deception point. that way, you'll know what people are talking about.

The Da Vinci Code was a commercial venture from the get go, I've read three of the guy's novels and they all follow exactly the same structures, they're not merely plotted, they're written using a blueprint. It was a fun read but there are no interesting ideas about anything in it.
So maybe reading one of his novels isn't such a waste of time, just don't decide to read them all like I did. Yes, I do have a sort of hatred for this author if that's what you're wondering.

I didn't mean to repeat what Underground said, we just happened to post at the same time. It just shows that it's the truth, heh.
I've read "The Da Vince Code" and "Deception Point". They're not fantastic, but the story is exciting, just thrillers. What was bothering me the most were the errors in the scientific facts. I'm not talking about the heavy stuff about Da Vince and the virgin Mary, but about some details in navigation (I noticed it because I'm studying it), which immediately make me doubt all the other "facts" that are used.
But as long as you read it as a thriller and nothing more than that, they're quite good. But don't expect important facts to be discovered or a fantastic style.
I liked "Deception Point" better, but that's probably because of the subject of the background story. NASA and comets interest me more than Da Vinci....

If you want a thriller, I strongly recommend Alistair MacLean or Clive Cussler or John Grisham or just about any thriller author but Dan Brown. He's not terribly good at plotting, and the sheer amount of factual errors is depressing - starting with his idea that an art historian would speak of Leonardo as da Vinci.
Alistair MacLean was a true blueprint author, by the way, but it works. Very entertaining light reading.

I've read his four books, and I liked each of them. It's true they aren't ground-breaking lit, but they're still fun to read. They're almost like a movie on paper, you have to be willing to turn your intellect down a little bit and just be entertained for a while.
Da Vinci code was probably my least favorite of the bunch. Of the two religion themed books, Angels and Demons has a much better story and much better antagonists. Still an airport book, no doubt, but a better one.

I haven't read Deception Point yet...I read Angels And Demons and Digital Fortress...and of course The Da Vinci Code..
I'd say that Angels and Demons is the best one...in terms of the plot and all...The Da Vinci Code is good too...it was just a bit difficult for me sometimes..
Digital Fortress isn't bad...I just didn't enjoy it like the rest...
So basically, yeah...Angels and Demons is what I would recommend for ya..
