Ok.. So two poems are going in here, but it's for my best friend and her boyfriend..

His Quest

A man stands in front of a burning town,
Sword slung over his shoulder,
He looks saddened,
As if it wasn’t suppose to be.

His glimmering blue eyes show his soul,
But quickly hide it, as coldness creeps back,
He turns around and begins walking away,
Letting his tears turn into rage.

The man continues to walk,
With no end in sight,
His will returned,
For a final fight.

“How dare they do that,”
He mutters to himself,
“How dare they destroy my town,
Destroy my town, my people.”

He clenched his fist, and walked away,
Letting the rays of the setting sun,
Bounce off the fires behind him,
As he continued on his quest.

Memories flashed by his eyes,
Of the times he used to play,
When he was but a child,
Now they are gone, ablaze.

He thinks of his love,
Back home, in another town,
Wanting to return to her,
But knowing he can’t.

The man frowns at his quest,
Not wanting to complete it,
All he wants now is to go home,
Yet if he did, there would be no vengeance.

His soul is pure of heart,
Its decisions are just,
But this last one was made,
From the broken trust.

His brother and his mother,
Both attacked the city,
Leaving him with bitter hatred,
But also a longing for his love.

“Suiru, I’ll be back soon.”
He says to the wind,
As he continues walking,
Walking into the horizon.

His quest yet completed,
His heart not destroyed,
His memories long lived,
His love waiting for him.

Her Bluff

Standing alone on a bluff,
She looks downward at the town beneath her,
A smile crosses her face,
As she thinks of her love.

It was then, that the wind blew her hair,
Making it dance around her vision,
The birds flew towards her,
To the outheld arm.

They chirped and sang,
Just for her,
Down below, was her man,
Fighting for her life, he did.

To her, the bluff was a soul-filled spot,
A place for her to come and watch from above,
Watch her man below,
Waiting for him to return.

She looked at the birds and smiled,
Before letting them fly away,
From her pockets, she drew a flower,
The one that was given on the day he left.

"Don't worry, my dear,
I will return to you,
Just like the wind blows,
And the birds sing."

He told her that day, and the words echoed,
She closed her eyes,
And smelled the aroma of the flower,
As she still waited on her bluff.

“Pyro, come back,”
She muttered, with a tear in her eye,
“I need you here, right beside me.”
It was then, she let the tear drop on her flower.

As if the wind heard her words,
A rustle came from behind her,
She spun around, and smiled,
Her man had returned.

Though he was holding himself up with his sword,
“Here I am, Suiru. Forever not leaving your side,
My love is like that flower,”
He told her, with a smile.

She ran over to him, and hugged,
The man she had not seen in months,
The flower that she held in her hands,
Fell to the ground, spinning around with the tear.

It sparkled for a moment,
Before a tree sprout came up,
They looked at it, and smiled,
“This is our tree.” They both said.

The woman hugged her man again,
As she looked at the sprout,
“This is our bluff, too.” She added,
As they watched the sun set.
