In James Joyce's opinion, what was the name that included all aspects of femininity and all goddesses? Thanks, Ouroboros

I cannot know for sure, but I would guess Molly Bloom, from Ulysses; as I have just noticed, she seems one of the very, very few female semi-main characters of all of his works.

Mono, thanks for your answer. Me too, I thought it was Molly, but apparently not. In a quote of James Joyce that appeared in somebody else's book, the mysterious name turned out to be Anne.

Do you have the quote, ouroboros, so that I could read it (and/or the title of the other book)? Merely to satiate my own curiousity. :D

The White Goddess by Robert Graves is the source. However, I neither know the page number, nor even the part of the book where the quote appeared. Nevertheless, it is sure that is there, somewhere...

You'd probably have to ask James Joyce that question.
If I had to guess, I'd say Nora.

Nevermind then. Sucks for Mrs. Joyce.

Definitely, the most feminine name according to James Joyce is "Anna Livia Plurabelle" mother and source of all feminity. She is the heroine and main character of Finnegans Wake. You could also read Richard Ellmann's James Joyce, undoubtedly, the best biography on the "Master of the word".
