The smooth paper
Seduces my pen
To flow with images,
Bare its four-colored soul
In a stream of beauty
A cataract of consequence.
The pen yearns for fulfillment
Trembles and shakes, dances and glides,
But leaves the paper
Unsatisfied.
There is no stream
No glittering flow, only scratches
Yearning for euphoria.
The words come
Slowly
Slowly
An
Interminable
Trickle
And the paper,
Scornful, unsatisfied,
Leaves my pen
For another muse.

flows beautifully.

"And the paper,
Scornful, unsatisfied,
Leaves my pen
For another muse."

i like this stanza a lot.

Hey poet,

I love the idea of seduction in your poem.
What is this four-coloured soul?
"To flow with images,
Bare its four-colored soul"
Does it symbolize the four elements in nature??

I love the following lines so much:
The smooth paper
Seduces my pen
To flow with images,
Bare its four-colored soul
In a stream of beauty
A cataract of consequence.
The pen yearns for fulfillment
Trembles and shakes, dances and glides,
But leaves the paper
Unsatisfied.

I agree with HOLOGRAPH. Your poem flows beautifully.

LILY.

thanks, holograph and lily!

no, it's not the four elements in nature - literally, it means one of the pens with the four changeable colors; but also it was sort of supposed to mean the few really strong emotions contained in poetry - sadness, happiness, anger, love - which add color to poems and combine in different ways to create the words.

Mir, I love it! and I imagined that kind of pen when I was reading it, do they still make them? I had forgotten all about them.

I especially like this:

The words come
Slowly
Slowly
An
Interminable
Trickle

My reading pace slowed as I read it, nicely done!

Hello mir, I've read your poems and am impressed with them, you write well. Your works either have the tone working for them or the depth but always containing the core of substance and meaning. I look forward to reading more of your contributions.
