Yeah, I've it, use it sometimes.
It's the best messenger regarding the voice quality ! It gives you a clear voice and lets you make PC to phone calls by buying a credit there, SMS services either, video conversations ...
Try it and you won't regret ;)
Regards.

I love it :D been using for over a year now, talk to all family and friends in North America for free, talk to friends and family in Europe either for free (if they too have Skype of course) or very very reasonable rates. The key is to get a good quality combination microphone/headset.
I just downloaded it two days ago so that next time I go away I can talk with my family for free or spending very little, rather than having to spend lots of money on international calls. I've heard a lot of positive stuff about it so I'm looking forward to trying it seriously!

It's awesome. My family has had it for about a year and a half. It's been a great opportunity to talk to friends in other countries (it's crazy, all the places we know people), and now to talk to those back home in America.
Also, I had a good online friend (from NZ but living in Australia) that I met on a ballet forum, and we became close friends with the help of Skype. I love it!!
You can't download it here, but we had it on our computer before we moved.

skype headsets are the same as the ones by logitech and other brands, no difference, you can buy one from skype, but you might aswell look around for a headset someplace else, personally I prefer Sennheiser, but most logitech headsets are good too.
If you are going to buy one, don't buy it from the skype website, but get it from the logitech website, some are the same price, but most are more expensive at the skype website, without adding anything, at least too my knowledge.
logitech website (http://www.logitech.com/)
Sennheiser website (http://www.sennheiser.co.uk)
Check it out, and see if you find anything you like.

I love skype. I would recommend getting it, what do you have to lose?
I've been wondering... with MSN messenger it's also possible to voice-chat, is it better with Skype?
And the prices at the Skype website seemed really high to me, I don't know about headset but for other stuff I can walk out to any good shop and spend less...

Yes, skype site is very much overpriced, skype is easier to use for voice chat, depending on the headset, the sound is about the same.

I have Skype, and really like it, though I don't use it much(because my contacts don't). I haven't used other IMs much, but Skype is easy to use. It lets me call free to any home phone in the US or Canada.
I would definitely recommend it.
