I will go with #1 because it is the most believable (thus, it must be a lie! :p)

I don't like the idea of a spider monkey being electrocuted, but I LOVE the idea of a spider money disrupting tea parties by chucking apples at the guests while perched atop a china cabinet!

PLEASE let his name have been 'Mr. Bananas.'

JuniperWoolf
03-21-2010, 11:23 PM
Haha, his name was "Cheeky," which was deliciously appropriate.

Heathcliff got it right, the lie was #2... I've always been very careful about leaving doors and windows open during the winter because I couldn't stop picturing the exact same scenario.

Heathcliff
03-22-2010, 07:27 AM
Okay. I had a bird once.

1. I had a nightmare once where my bird flew out the window and I caught it back by scooping it into an Acubra Hat.

2. I honestly enjoy walking.

3. I used to go to a pediatrist (I think that is how you spell it) when I was little, however he wanted me to come back more than once a year and I didn't really want to bother, so I didn't go back.

Scheherazade
03-22-2010, 07:37 PM
These are rather vague but... no.2?

JuniperWoolf

I'll take #1.

Heathcliff
03-24-2010, 04:08 AM
JuniperWoolf wins again.
It was a baseball cap I caught the bird with.
Honestly, I don't think I've ever seen anyone, except for a couple of oldies on ANZAC Day, ever wear an Acubra hat. Highly unlikely that many people would actually own one.

JuniperWoolf
03-25-2010, 05:46 AM
Alriiiiight... this one's theme will be "random facts about my friends."

1. My semi-boyfriend Dave once jumped into a deep river despite the fact that he couldn't swim, and when my friend Antoine jumped in to save him Dave's finger got caught on 'Toine's piercing and ripped his earlobe. It still hurts him sometimes. They both almost died.

2. My friend Rosie passed out in biology class one day because we were learning about the female reproductive system and she's "delicate." She smoked her head on the lab table behind her and we had to call in the paramedics. My bio teacher panicked, which is funny because he used to be a medic.

3. My friend Tom is very Polish, and once when he was visiting his homeland he got arrested because he had a joint in his pocket. Being Canadian he thought that he would just maybe get his joint taken away, but he ended up spending three days in a jail cell.

Pendragon
03-25-2010, 09:07 AM
I'll go with 1 as the others seem to have the ring of truth, especially no. 3

I'm guessing it was two days or four days. Must brush up on Polish laws.

JuniperWoolf
03-25-2010, 09:04 PM
Heath wins! I actually completely made that one up (see what a good liar I am, Pen?).

Heathcliff
03-25-2010, 09:11 PM
Haha. Too good!

1. I spent about five hours in my room ignoring the world and sitting cross-legged facing the wall when I was little. It was after I lost a game of tennis, however I don't think that was why I was grumpy, but I don't think that was it.

2. In a digital portfolio I created when I was eleven I made one of the pages black and yellow, and my techer yelled at me because I based it on negative things.

3. One year when I was really little I painted four little candles to give mum for mother's day, despite the fact that it was one am by the time I finished.

I guess #1 - don't know why though...

I've had art teachers like #2!

JuniperWoolf

#2... it was black and red.

Heathcliff

Pendragon wins! I was up that late, however there were only three candles. I couldn't find a fourth.

Let's see here:

1: I am a big fan of Sherlock Holmes down to owning a Deerstalker and calabash pipe

2: I have absolutely no interest in horror fiction outside of Bram Stoker's Dracula and Mary Shelly's Frankenstein.

3: I really like the old stuff much better than what passes for good literature today

Good luck

Alllll Riiiigghhhhttttt!!!

OK, let me see...

1. I have been to several star wars conventions but I've never worn a costume.

2. I'm afraid of heights. At an industrial building I went up in a manlift to the roof (about 40 ft) got on the roof then couldn't make myself step back on the manlift so I had to get down by the inside emergency access ladders.

3. I was kicked out of a bar for fighting but was let back in after the girl I was fighting with was kicked out.

The Comedian
03-29-2010, 03:16 PM
Oh, this is too easy: Number one is the lie -- You must have worn a costume, right?

aliengirl

Number#3. I wonder why did you stay there after being kicked out.

Oh, this is too easy: Number one is the lie -- You must have worn a costume, right?

Comedian is correct but for the wrong reason - I've never been to a convention!!!

Number#3. I wonder why did you stay there after being kicked out.

I was waiting for my friends. (It wasn't much of a fight either. Some crazy chick was hitting on a guy from our group. A girl from our group turned to say something to the guy and crazy chick jumped on her. Another girl and I kinda jumped in the middle (the other chick was way bigger and meaner looking then our friend) which turned into a knot of girls pulling each others hair until security showed up)

The Comedian
03-30-2010, 11:51 AM
Yeah!

Okay, here goes: two statements are true and one is a lie. Pick the lie.

Theme: former jobs

1. I used to install residential sewer systems. It was a crappy job, but I learned a lot about plumbing.

2. I once got paid to be a hair model at a local cosmetology exposition. My stylist asked me to help her out because I had "nice hair for a boy". And, yes, I do have lovely locks. *checks the mirror* ;)

3. I used to work as a gardener and lackey for a former graduate school professor of mine. Yes, I was a total suck up. Yes, I got a good letter of recommendation.

Lulim
03-30-2010, 03:49 PM

The Comedian

I guess I'll pick #2, since it is the only one left.

That was a good strategy cgrillo because you guessed it. I've never been paid to model my hair, but I have installed sewer systems and was a lackey for my professor.

papaya -- you're totally right, I should have moved number one to number two.

So cgrillo, it's your turn!

cgrillo
04-01-2010, 06:59 AM
Oh, right, I forgot I guessed on this one.

1. I do, in fact, know how to ride a bike.

2. I've never broken a bone in my body.

3. I hate celebrating my birthday.

Pendragon
04-01-2010, 09:06 AM

3 for no other reason that a lot of people do hate their birthday, including yours truly, so perhaps you deviate from the norm and actually like it! :bday_2:

Correct. I like your thinking behind this.

I have not broken a bone in my body, and I do, in fact, know how to ride a bike. I put the latter in there to throw people of, since it seems like most people would, in fact, know how to ride a bike.

...in fact...

Pendragon
04-02-2010, 09:58 AM
1) I have an abject fear of knives, having been stabbed once back in high school

2) I love to hunt, but I prefer small game to large game

3) There are few bones in my body that haven't seen some type of break or other trauma as I head for the big 5-0

papayahed
04-04-2010, 10:59 PM
ok, ok. This has to do with school.

1. In grade school my class had to spend two days making leis for the annual spring festival called "The Polish Luau".

2. From the 6-8 grades I was in the annual Christmas eve mass, where we were dressed as angels and lead the procession into the church at the start of mass.

3. In the sixth grade the teacher used to get us in line and behave by threatening to turn off the lights.

Heathcliff

JuniperWoolf
04-05-2010, 04:38 AM
Ahahahaha!!! I really hope that #3 is true, I could just picture some woman standing there threatening a bunch of school children with a menacing voice and her hand on the lightswitch... terror in the youngsters' eyes.

#2. Just because it is the only option left.

papayahed

#2. Just because it is the only option left.

You are correct. It was really grades 1-8 that I did the procession at mass.

Juniper: Thinking about it now seems pretty funny but our 6th grade teacher would say "Ah Folks, settle down. Settle down or I'm turning off the lights" and she'd start counting, she'd get to two and a half and we'd all stop talking and settle down. I'm pretty sure there was some type of punishment if the lights went out but I don't remember that part.

snowdrop17
04-06-2010, 04:00 PM
Yeah! Got it just by chance. Now here I go:
It has to do with pets.

1. We had a pair of rabbits with lovely eyes. I loved them even though they didn't speak. One of them was called snow-white and the other was called polka-dot as it had two round patches of brown fur on its back.

2. My grandmother had a pair of peacocks but the male was stolen and the female died later.

3. We had a family of cats as pet for their 3 generations. The grandma called Kitty, then mommy called Lippy, and then four little kittens. We kept two and gave two to one of our friends.

1. One thing I simply cannot stand is burning scented candles.

2. I actually own a book from the 1800's, a book called The Best of Shakespeare.

3. From where I live, two hours drive can put in in four different states.

Taliesin the crow boy wins. I usually keep a candle of some sort burning as long as I am awake. I do own that book, which is much the worse for wear, and any perusal of a map of Southwest Virginia, finding my home town of Marion will bear out the claim in #3

Taliesin's turn

Taliesin
04-12-2010, 05:14 PM
Oh, bugger.

1. Despite being 21 years old, I don't have a drivers license and can't drive
2. I am rather active in the local anti-nuclear-pro-renewable energy thingy.
3. I have quite a liking for the game of go/baduk/weiqi.

Taliesin
04-14-2010, 08:47 AM
As it turns out, I'm a lousy liar.
Yes, it's number 2 that's wrong, I am quite a supporter for nuclear energy now, seeing that traditional non-renewable energy sources should begin to cease (since we seem to be running out a bit and pollution is quite a nasty piece of work)and that nuclear energy should fill the void. Renewable energy is nice, but I don't think it could cover the majority of our energetic needs before around 2050.

As for driving, I am thinking that maybe I should get those licenses in near future as it might come rather handy, however, I don't feel any particular need for the knowledge of how to drive a car.

And go is of course a wonderful game, the intellectual game par excellence (it's better than chess!), so of course I like it.

Process of elimination...
But I think I'm right.

Lol I love the taste of enchillada bread. I eat that stuff on it's own :P It's nice to make pizza with.

You remind me of Winnie the Pooh, but with butter. Just scoop your hand in and eat it.

Ben's right, the lie was #3 (but I tried really, really hard... it just wasn't happening).

I really did run over my brother's friend. He was sitting on his bike in front of my car and wouldn't move for about five minutes, so I just inched forward and intended to bump his tire and freak him out to make him move. Unfortunately, my car was high enough to go over his tire and he fell. He didn't get squished, though (or I probably wouldn't be here typing to you right now because I would be in prison); I was driving too slowly.

I think it's number 1 (it's a bit too boring to be true ;))

Obviously, you don't know how much a shiny-back charizard is worth to a twelve year old girl. Stealing one is practically punishable by death (of all of the bad things that I've done in my life, swiping this cartoon character card stands out as the thing that makes me feel the most guilt).

Indyben

Woot I got it right!!!! okay so is my turn now?

1)I rolled a bowling ball on the bar that blocks a gutter, then it fell off into the lane and I got a strike.

2)As soon as I was born I was put into intensive care.

3)I have hugged Bruce Dickinson-lead singer of Iron Maiden.

Lol yes Heathcliff 1 is the lie. It is something I would have loved to do yet haven't lol. I love Iron Maiden.

When I was born I had this thing called Rhesus Disease where my Mum's blood cells outnumbered my Dad's so they thought it was something foreign and started attacking it. My blood was literally killing itself. I was barely 1 week old and I had to have three life-saving blood transfusions lol.

And when I was bowling for my cousins birthday we put up the bars that blocked the gutters. It came my turn, i lost my grip on the ball, it landed on the bars then rolled halfway down, it fell into the lane and when it hit the pins it was a strike. Luckiest shot ever lol.

Hope you had fun! :)

1. I can eat a family sized pizza on my own.

3. My dad confiscated the light bulb from the lamp in my room when I was eight because I wouldn't turn it off and go to bed, only I had a spare bulb in my cupboard.

Well, Indy is going to some place that doesn't have internet for a week, so for the sake of the game, I knowthe answer is three. Pendragon's turn!!

I have to give it to Pendragon because he guessed it first. Me Lactose intolerant? I LOVE CHEESE!

My mother is an artist and has entered quite a few shows.

I did Karate for two years, got to my second belt and then stopped because all the good teachers kept leaving the school

Your turn Pen.
