I don't ever really classify my writings as "poetry" or "stories" or any other label...they are just what they are. Mostly, my thoughts. So I thought I would share and see if anything bounced back to me.

from one minute to the next
life lived through messages, phone calls, irrelevant sex
baby girl, didnt they tell you?

in the seconds after, you forget to breathe
forget the phone calls, forget the smiles, forget the delusions
all you know in that minute after is being wrong
each time you foolishly think it will be right
not from him
or him

im figuring it out,
it never was a secret.
i always tried so hard
foolishly looking forward with you,
obviously it was never that far.

why didnt i know how dangerous it was
to even imagine love
i hate the fact that the sad songs only make me miss you
when the reality is i never had you.
its easier to write than to speak,
easier to imagine than to see.
all the while im learning the truth
for you, i never was good enough
and chances are, i never will be.
