I’m always searching
Searching for truth, answers, a sign
That you’re the one for me
My heart aches
And feels like an anchor in my chest
My body races to get things done and stay distracted
But in my mind
I’m still searching
Searching for you
Are you there? Were you ever? Will you ever be?
To have felt you in my soul, even for a short time
Felt like heaven, like where I belonged
We were meant to be together
Although we may not understand right now
Are you searching
Searching for truth, answers, a sign,
That I may be the one for you
There are so many emotions I want to share with you
But I’m pulled in, and in the next breath pushed away
Where do we stand
Or are we standing at all
It feels a lot like falling
Sometimes like falling in love
Other times like falling to pieces
All I hope and pray for
Is to find you again, wrap our arms around each other, and never let go
The only searching either of us will have to do
Is to look deep into the other’s eyes
And search the other’s soul…
Search in the darkness of night
For the gentle curve of the spoon
And the warm aroma of the sugar…
To reach out and search for the other’s hand
While walking crowded streets…
And finally, we’d search every day
For ways to make the other happy
Searching for truth, answers, a sign
That you’re the one for me
My heart aches
And feels like an anchor in my chest
My body races to get things done and stay distracted
But in my mind
I’m still searching
Searching for you
