Just read ALCHEMIST by Paulo Coelho

It is an exciting novel that bursts with optimism almost like an oversimplified version of new-age philosophy and mysticism, but as Coelho states "simple things are the most valuable and only wise people appreciate them.

Would like to read more of such books.

Would my seniors advise me on these books

Hello Jitu.

Welcome on board. I have read the Alchemist by Coelho and it is indeed a great book. Not only it is about optimism, but it also carries the stronge message about love, intuition (listening to what your heart says), and believing in dreams.

Have you read other Coelho books By the River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept and The Devil and Miss Prym? Both books are also great! I also have The Zahir but due to certain reasons, I haven't finish reading it :(

I enjoy reading Paulo Coelho's books because of his spiritual and philosophical perspective, It makes you ponder sometimes... I think The Alchemist teaches one about hope, and how vital it is in life, and to truly believe that we are capable of achieving our dreams... I remember this one line that really stands out in my memory, from that book.. :
It's the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting.

I want to read The Zahir, I've heard such great things. Has anyone read it?

I have, but only until the chapter where the novelist is getting closer to Mikhail, in his attempt to find Esther.

I have never come across this book, but as I see our great critics member-Subterannean, he too appreciated the book, I'll, by God's grace look for it.
