Not Even a Word (Omar Mohd Noor)

i helped you when
you were a stranger
walking aimless an the lined
palms of my unsure hands,
mistaking roads and
mistaking lines

you bought a small and under-equipped hut

now you are safe;
Later, you went away,
not even a word

To me it seems like the poem is saying roughtly this:
I helped you when you needed it most and when you didn't need me anymore, you left without as much as saying 'thank you'.
