The Dream

I'm in a world all alone
No television, music, or phone
I can't see what's behind me
or beside me or ahead
I get this creeping feeling
Suddenly filled with dread
As the mist begins to clear
And I take a look around
I can't believe I'm here
I had a first class ticket down
I didn't feel the razor blades
See the veins or taste the blood
The pain on the inside kept my mind
It kept beating like a drum
My breath got short and quick and fast
And when the worst had passed
I found myself looking up at Jesus through the gates
He looked at me with tear filled eyes, as i heard the devil laugh
"I'm sorry" he said "Why couldn't you see, you would have
been fine if you'd just come to me"
My eyes filled up as I started to speak
"I'm sorry, Dear Jesus, I'm sorry I'm weak"
His tears ran down and cooled my face
as he held me in one last loving embrace
Then suddenly everything was gone
the weather was changing it was no longer calm
And out of the ground came the most beautiful thing
An angel named Satan who had lost just one wing
He smiled at me as my toes became hot
he laughed at my when I realized i was caught
I couldn't scream or speak or cry
I know now why people are afraid to die
I try to move but just fall down
It gets worse when the rain comes down
Acid rain and it sets the road on fire
The rain pours down and the flames get higher
Just like knives, these ones I can feel
The places on my wrist won't seem to heal
My tears are like needles against my cheeks
Finally, I awake in my bed from sleep
My skin is hot, and my hair is wet
My feet are burnt and feel like cement
When I finally make my way out bed
I throw the razor blades away and thank God
I'm not dead

I like this poem although i'm not religous. You show how life is a gift and if you take away your own life, it's a sin. I like the last few sentances cause it shows how glad you are to be here. i like this very much well done. [x]
