This is a thread for sharing "poetry starts" or lists of ideas to start the poetry writing process. Some examples:
Look at a painting or postcard and make a list of words that come to mind in viewing the picture. Make a poem inspired by the word list and/or picture.
Make a list of childhood memories. Write a poem inspired by one of the memories.
Make a list of dates that are important to you, and why. Write a poem inspired by one of the dates
Make a list of secrets, write a poem inspired by one or all of the secrets.
