:crash:
I put this here because its kind of about the lit net.
Recently when I have logged on from scratch ( as in not on the computer where my password is saved) it shows all the threads as seen when I havent seen any of them.
Can anyone explain why?
I mean I know it used to happen in the Book club forum but why is it happening everywhere now?

I think when you log on manually, the Forum registers it as last visit as well as present visit (just a theory). In my experience, that does happen from time to time, but if you're really quick on the draw when clicking on "New Posts," it works fine. Ish.
I thought I was the only one having this 'problem' with the book club subforum. Everytime I read a thread with new replies and then go back (not by hitting backspace, by clicking the link 'one level up' kinda) to the main BC page, it shows all threads as read without me reading them. Doesn't happen anywhere else though.

Oh you poor people! ;)
I sometimes have the opposite happen to me, when I log in, read a couple of threads, leave, and come back, and everything is suddenly unread, as if I had never been there. Now I know my memory is sometimes a bit hazy, but re-reading those threads would give me a big deja-vu feeling, as if I had read them before, even though no one posted after I read them the first time. It makes me feel all strange and tingely inside when that happens.
Why I don't ever have threads be read before I've read them I don't know, but it sure is strange.

The thing is that your PC and this server are not in constant communication. There are various systems in place to guess if you've read a thread or not, but when it comes down to it it is still just a guess.
Ok, now it marked all subforums/threads read after I read one thread. It hasn't done this before. Has the server given up guessing what I might've read?
edit: might also be something with the site? It's awfully slow for me tonight, other sites load ok.

At the time of login, if I select 'Remember me,' it actually doesnt. Even if the option is checked and I straightaway click on Login button, it shows an error.
Why doesnt the computer want to remember me. Why?? Why????

Do you disallow cookies at all?

I dont know how to do that, when I log off, it says all cookies disabled/removed (not sure but some message appears about the cookies). Is this what you mean???

It doesn't like your cookies? Is that why it tries to forget you? Why do you keep coming back despite all that rejection?

Yes.
Cookies are necessary to be "Remembered" without them the server has no idea who you are when you visit so you need to relogin in each time.

Another thing about cookies: Just like their real life counterparts, they can get corrupted.
At the time of login, if I select 'Remember me,' it actually doesnt. Even if the option is checked and I straightaway click on Login button, it shows an error.I had this problem a while back, and fixed it by manually deleting the cookie in question and then logging in as usual (and ticking the "remember me" box again).

When I am reading a big post, that takes time, after I have finished and want to come back to the main page or some other thread, I see that I have been logged-off, I have to re-login :bawling: Its so annoying. Why cant it be that I log-off only when I use the Log-Out button?

This is the best solution to weird login problems (assuming you aren't blocking cookies outright).
