I am studying the movie in English. It is a brilliant piece of work. I heard there was a book. Has anyone seen the movie.

Yeah it is based on the life of John Nash, an economist(?). Have you read the book, I am told it is quite different from the movie.

no... by the way... he wasn't much of an economic genius in my book... (going further and talking about his socialist economic views would violate the political rule)

I own the book. It is different from the movie in a good number of ways. Unfortunatly I only read like 3/4 of it so......

Jonus, would you recomend reading the book? That is if I'd be able to get hold of a copy... and have some time to read. Well, maybe during summer holidays maybe... and then a copy might be avaible here.

I hate when someone makes a great movie, so you run out and buy the book and it's rubbish. That happened to me with Forrest Gump.

I think we have all had that expieriance. However the Jurassic Park books were infinitly better that Jurrasic Park the movie.

Well, the usual case (as is with Jurassic Park) is that the book is infinately better than the movie. But Forest Gump and A Beautiful Mind are the rare exeption, where the movie is better.

If it's a book based on a movie, I watch the movie. If it's a movie based on a book, I read the book. everything's usually better in it's original form.
Oh, but if you think that just because they made a movie on it, the book must be good, you'd be wrong. The Shipping News and Charlotte Gray taught me that little lesson.
As for A Beautiful Mind, you're probably better off watching the movie. I haven't seen it, but John Forbes Nash won the Nobel Prize for ECONOMICS. which, as I've said before, isn't a science. But I thnk he was a mathematician.(?)

Yeah he used mathematics, and applied it to economics, at least that is what the movie said.
