Just out of curiousity, how many of you guys have a magazine subscription and to what? I just received my National Geographic and was thinking about subscribing to Archaeology and the thought crossed my mind. In making this thread, another thought crossed my mind: I put this in the general literature forum - does it belong here?

I guess this is another way to get to know you guys too :D

heheheh...

Maxim...

does that count as literature? lol...

I think when I finally get space to store massive amounts of magazines (I usually give away my Maxims when I'm done) maybe I'd get National Geographic and some other interesting and informative reading...Time? I don't know yet...

Not too many, but enough: The Oregonian (my state's newspaper), American Poetry Review (same as Lycosparks), Scientific American (very good magazine), and I used to subscribe to Adbusters, but that one got a bit expensive.
In my e-mail, also, I subscribe to multiple newsletters, ranging from music, trivia, science, and literature.

I am amazed that some of you guys have so many subscriptions. I barely have time to read one magazine let alone two and my current book. That's awesome. :D

Reminisce (I love that magazine!! Even though I'm only 14)
World (I just read my dad's)

Every now and again I read GL at the library but I always feel so guilty afterward. Stupid, stupid magazine.

As a writing journal, I get The Writer, which is similar to Writers Digest. In the past I did get Writers Digest, but I think I prefer The Writer. You and Robin should compare.

Hehe, oops I had quite forgotten about this thread.

I just actually got the subscription to national geographic...I had been buying them every month for the shelf price...like five dollars every month. So I just finally got the introductory subscription for nineteen dollars.

But I am thinking about subscribing to Archaeology. I am still reading May's issue of the Biblical Archaeology Review. Actually, it is sitting in the passenger seat of my car!

I wanted to pick up some literary magazines though. You guys have given me ideas.

Hey, both you and Robin should give advices as I'm thinking to suscribe one of it. Which one is the best? Writer's Digest or The Writer?

I must confess, I've never read The Writer. For me, Writer's Digest is my first and only literary magazine, but it's done me fine so far. I always go through the Classifieds and the Writer's Market pages and circle anything that looks promising (contests in particular). Writer's Digest has some contests of its own, which I'm thinking of entering. They occasionally have a really stellar article on writing as a craft that I genuinely enjoy reading, although they tend to cover a wide variety of things and hence, don't have quite so much for craft writing.

Still, I really like the name "Writer's Digest."

Robinhood, thanks for the descriptin of Writer's Digest. I am considering subscribing to that one as well.

Can anyone give feedback on The Writer? I'm a college student with limited funds; I certainly can't subscribe to both at this point. Thanks in advance.

I am a little interested on information on The Writer as well. I have only ever heard of Writer's Digest.

Hmm..you learn a lot about people from their magazines. I didn't think I would be finding out so much about people :D

So would it be safe to assume that while literaturerocks is trying to grasp every literary piece he/she can, he/she is also musically talented?

But I think most of us are sort of eclectic in our interests.

I just subscribed one English paper named "21st Century",but I buy other newpapers such as Around The Globe regularly.I found it is more convient and substantial to buy it than to subscribe it because in our campus the postman didn't do a good job,we often couldn't get what we subcribe on time......
