Hello,

I am a new member of this forum & found this on google.

Actually, I am 15 & I've to write a 500-600 word essay on a very difficult topic (for my age). The topic is:

Nothing is more blind than sight without vision

Can you guys give me some paragraphs on this topic or some resourced where I can get something on this topic so that I can pen it down in my own words. I will be really grateful.

Thanks,
Maneel

(It may seem that I am demanding too much, but this is kind of urgent, I've to submit it on Monday & I am +5:30 GMT)

I think they are asking you to write something somewhat philosophical

Nothing is more blind than sight without vision

This might refer to people who are narrow minded or closed off to new ideas. yes, physically they have vision, but how much do they really "see"? To open ourselves up to new experiences we have to embrace change.

We should also appreciate the differences between people and realize that although someone may have different ideas from us, or look different from us that does not make them bad or take away their essential humantity.

: : : Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not:

: : : Isaiah 6:9-10
: : : And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear you indeed, but understand not; and see indeed, but perceive not.

: : "Random House Dictionary of Popular Proverbs and Sayings" by Gregory Y. Titelman (Random House, New York, 1996). Mr. Titelman agrees that this saying has its roots in the Bible, specifically Jer. 5:21 (King James version): "Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not."

: : "There are none so blind as those who will not see. The most deluded people are those who choose to ignore what they already know. The proverb has been traced back in English to 1546 (John Heywood), and resembles the Biblical verse quoted (above). In 1738, it was used by Jonathan Swift in his 'Polite Conversation,' and is first attested in the United States in the 1713 'Works of Thomas Chalkley'..."

Try doing a search on the people mentioned in the quote, that might help you.

Good luck!

Hello,

Thanks for youe help. I have included these examples in my essay. However, I need some theory (just theory, not examples) to complete my essay, I'll be grateful if you could help me with it.

Thanks,
Maneel
