Hi, I learned a poem in Hungarian 20 years ago and I can't find it in English. I suppose the translation might have changed it? They translated the title "Fairy Song" or "Song of a Fairy" . It started somewhat like this: "don't cry, don't cry, the next summer will bring flowers, stop crying, stop crying the flower sleeps in the roots. Dry your eyes, dry your eyes, Heaven made me sing out my soul"...I know "my version" is nowhere as beautiful as any of Keats' poems, but just wanted to gave a basic translation.
I would really appreciate any help. I'm looking for this poem for years now and this forum is my last hope!
Thank you,
A Hungarian girl who once won a prize telling this poem...

Hello, HSD, welcome to the forum. :)
I think you search for the following poem, entitled 'Fairy Song' - a lovely poem! Obviously you have such good taste in poetry - perhaps you ought to stick around.

Fairy Song

Shed no tear! oh, shed no tear!
The flower will bloom another year.
Weep no more! oh, weep no more!
Young buds sleep in the root’s white core.
Dry your eyes! oh, dry your eyes!
For I was taught in Paradise
To ease my breast of melodies,—
Shed no tear.

Overhead! look overhead!
‘Mong the blossoms white and red—
Look up, look up! I flutter now
On this fresh pomegranate bough.
See me! ’tis this silvery bill
Ever cures the good man’s ill.
Shed no tear! oh, shed no tear!
The flower will bloom another year.
Adieu, adieu—I fly—adieu!
I vanish in the heaven’s blue,—
Adieu, adieu!

Thank you so, so much! Wow, it is much more beautiful than I imagined. So, I got the title right, but it wasn't Keats?!? Hm. One always learn.
I love poetry. My #1 poem is If by R.Kipling.
Once again, thanks.

Hello, I was looking for exactly the same song.^_^ My sister sang it in her choir years ago, but all she could remember that it was called "shed no tear". Thanks to your help with the title I found out It's by David N. Childs, the title
is "weep no more", and you can find a sample MIDI here.....

I love "Fairy's Song!" I just thought I'd add that there's a choral arangement of it. My choir just sang it and it is absolutely beautiful. The composer is David N. Childs and it's part of the Charlotte Adams Choral Series if you're interested! :)
